A monthly challenge is a simple way to pick up a new habit, routine, or make a good push for progress on any project in 30 days.
It's easy to understand: you commit to consistently doing your new habit/routine/project for one month. No exceptions for the month, but at the end of the month, you can stop. You don't have to do it anymore.
The trick is that by the end of a consistent month, it's a habit and you often don't want to quit. You've made it a part of your life and it flows with you now. Of course, if that's not true, you just drop it.
Monthly challenges are a great way to build some discipline in your life or give yourself some accountability on finishing something that overwhelms you. If you need to finish decorating the bedroom, make it a monthly challenge. If you need to lose ten pounds, make exercise your monthly challenge. You can tweak it to fit your life.
To get started on a Monthly Challenge, read these simple instructions and then go for it!
1. If you haven't already, register! You won't be able to access our forum unless you're a site member. It's quick, easy, and free, so sign up.
2. Check out our up and coming monthly challenge on the Monthly Challenge Forum. We begin on the 1st of each month, but I usually announce what the next month's challenge will be a week or so before, so if there's any preparation to be done we will all have time for it.
3. I'll ask for everyone who's taking part to introduce themselves by the first day of the new challenge, so be sure to respond to the "Meet and Greet" post when you see it pop up.
4. Update your progress every day by responding to my daily progress post on the Monthly Challenge forum. You can choose to receive the posts in your email account, or you can just visit the forum at the SisterWisdom site.
So jump in! Our next challenge starts on the first of the coming month.
