Yes, like the Von Trapp family singers. I am going to shamelessly use my children and their inherent cuteness (by the way, has anyone figured out at exactly what age the “inherent cuteness” disappears? I think it’s around 12 years old, but I’m still not sure. It’s definitely gone by 13…) to gain glory and fame and recognition and cash prizes for myself.
Okay, not really. No glory, just fame, recognition, and cash prizes.
Okay, not really. Actually no children will be involved in the entering of this song competition. But it’s a cute photo of them dancing to Mara’s version of “Ring Around the Rosy” which includes some original interpretive lyrics. She’s very creative, my little Mara… Just like her, uh, Daddy. Yeah. Not like me. I’m normal.
Singing competition, right. My pastor’s wife told me about it; it is sponsored by the local Christian radio station and the deadline for entering is tomorrow today. Our friends Preston & Alana helped us out with recording a track to submit; it’s a song I wrote several (5?) years ago… so here it is, if you’d like a listen. Now I need to go locate a working printer, a decent photo of myself, and a cd I can put the song on so I can take it all over there tomorrow this morning.

I wish the guitar had been farther from the mic and the singer closer. The guitar completely overwhelms the music, unfortunately.
